Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Getting Custody of My Grandchild

I take care of my 2 yr old granddaughter. Her mother sees her maybe once a week. Her father is a guest of NYS Correctional not due to get out until june 2003. How can I get her in my custody? What steps do I need to take?

Thanks

You can go to Family Court, and file a petition for custody.
