Re: custody trial
I have no idea what makes a good witness.
In almost 40 years of practicing law, some witnesses whom I thought were terrible the judge and the jury loved. Others that I thought were great, everybody hated.
A good witness is one who is likeable and believable, who doesn't have an ax to grind, and is factual.
The parent is the best witness. He or she should be prepared, tested and believable.
That is the reason you have a lawyer, to evaluate the witnesses, and the parties and to script the trial.
