Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I currently have my daughter living with me at my parents home. Tomorrow, I have to go to work and take the baby to the sitters. I have filed papers for custody but have yet to appear in court. My ex has been acting erratcially over the last four days(threatening to drive her car into a tree, take my daughter so i will never see her again, getting into altercations at the park with my daughter in her arms)-i want to protect my daughter but have been told if she shows up at the sitters, she can take her. I need some advice----i can't just not go to work for the next month until court.
