Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Deduction of SS benefits

My 2 (underage) children receive monthly SS (not disability)after I turned 62. Can I deduct these SS payments from my monthly child-support payments?

Thanks

Re: Deduction of SS benefits

You should NOT unilaterally make any changes to your child support payments, upon you and your children receiving SSI.

If your income in reduced, at that or any time, You should Petition the Court for Modification of the child support order, based upon your change of circumstance.

Good luck,
