Legal Question in Family Law in New York
had to defend myself.
I had a lawyer but my lawyer before trial asked to be remove from the case, because I hadn't kept in touch with him, which is true cause I was working alot of hours at the time. The judge granted him his request and refused to give me another court appointed attorney. He told me I would have to defend myself, and I didn't know what to say to the judge so I went along with this.I have no knowledge of the law or how to defend myself and I ended up losing my children because of this.I feel that I was treated wrong and should still have my children i feel one of my rights were violated. What if anything should I have done and is it to late for me to do something now my children have been in foster care for a year, and this still bothers me cause I feel I should have been able to have another attorney since the attorney that asked to be remove was my first and only attorney.

If the reason or circumstance as to why you lost your child changed within the past year, you may re-new application for custody.
