deposition

my husband and I have been asked to a appear at a deposition she is getting a divorce and her husband has called us. He is his own attorney. The questions are financial in nature as per the letter. We have no knowlege of finances in this family. He is trying to annoy as many people he can. Do we have to appear, as we cannot help him or her in any way?We cannot afford the time for this thanks S
