Legal Question in Family Law in New York

How do I disslove a bigamist marriage?

After being married for 12 years I found out my husband's divorce from his first wife was not final until Nov 1989. We were married Sept 1989. We have been seperated for three years, since I found out. I dont consider myself legally married but I do have a marriage certificate that states I am married in the eyes of New York State. What do I need to do to disslove this marriage on paper. There are no children or property involved

If your marriage ceremony took place at a time when your partner was still married to someone else, your marriage is legally null and void. There is an action that can be brought to have a court make that declaration, however, there are some complex issues you should consider.
