Divorce actions

If i filed a divorce action in suffolk count supreme court in new york state and now i do not wish to proceed with it do i have to file another action in court to stop it or can i just forget about it.

If the issue is not jointed - no answer was served by the defendant - you can file a statement with the county clerk to discontinue the action.

If an answer was served you would either have to file a stipulation to discontinue the action or file a motion to discontinue the action.
