Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Divorce and Assets

We have been married for less than 6 months (4/2001)- I intend to file taxes separately - He has no assets whatsoever - I have a condo in Florida (not fully paid up), savings and 401K account, and car - would he actually have any right toward any my assets of which I worked very hard for? By the way, I had all of these assets before I married him.

Re: Divorce and Assets

If you came into the marriage with the assets, they should be separate property. You should definitely retain an attorney for your divorce, because it looks like you may have a lot to lose.
