Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My divorce from May 09 has not been filed. The attorney that rep'd me just contacted me now 12'09 telling me to withdrawl my answer and the divorce will be filed.

I was forced into an agreement with threats of owing more money. I just want this finalized so that I can appeal. Can I appeal my divorce if I withdrawl my answer? Can I appeal my divorce at all?

You appear to be very confused about the process. No, you can not appeal a divorce when you default (which is, presumably, the end result of withdrawing your answer.)

You should consult with an attorney before doing anything. If you're not communicating well with your current attorney, find another one.
