Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Before I consider divorce on grounds of adultery, I need to confirm that my wife is still having an affair. I want to know how to obtain cell phone texting records with exact wording of all texts sent and received. I pay the bill and the phone is in my name but have been refused my request by the cell phone service provider. How can I get the contents of these text messages? The cell phone provider says this has to be done by subpoena. I need this information in order to decide whether or not to retain an attorney.

If you really wish to pursue a divorce on grounds of adultery, you will need an attorney regardless of whether you need the text messages or not.
Your divorce sounds contentious; you would better off consulting with a lawyer prior to filing.
