Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I want to get a divorce from my husband because he is cheating on me. I can prove this because I hired a private detective. I heard there is an old law that is rarely inforced but it is illegal in NY to cheat on your spouce. If this is true I not only want to file for divorce but want my husband put in jail. I only want to hear from NY lawyers as I will contact you to file for divorce in NY.

By the way, while it technically is true that adultery is illegal in New York, it is something that has not been prosecuted in decades.

I agree with David. In 20 years of practicing law I never witnessed an individual prosecuted for adultery.
