Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am currently going through a divorce with my husband. During the time we were married and still living together, he injured himself and is set to recieve a monetary settlement. My question is, "Am I entitled to part of this settlement and how would I go about getting that settlement ?(because I am sure he won't just give it to me..he didn't even want me to know that he was in talks about a settlement.)

Money received from a personal injury claim is not subject to equitable distribution in a divorce.
