Legal Question in Family Law in New York
My divorce order states that my ex-husband is to visit our son every Saturday but he doesn't come at all. My son has only seen his father three times in the last twelve month and one of those times was only for about ten minutes. Is there a way that I can enforce the court order of visitation? My son is feeling rejected and it is affecting his behavior and school work. It is really quite sad because he loves his father and it is tearing up his self esteem. I can't be a mother and a father.

Unfortunately, courts will generally not force a non-custodial parent to conduct visitation (support obligations, however, will be enforced). Your ex-husband may not wish to see his son, but cannot choose to abandon him financially.
On a side note, if your husband truly does not wish to see his own son (though I do not know your circumstances), then your son may be better off without him anyway. Good luck.
