Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am considering a divorce and we are in the process of purchasing my grandmother's home, if we go through with the purchase who gets the home in the event of a divorce when there isn't equity in the home? We have one two year old daughter and the reason for me to consider the divorce is his alcoholism.
