In NY, divorce records are NOT open to the public. Only a party or their atty may have access to record. (Of course there must be an exception for the Govt to have access in lmtd cases)

Re: Are divorce records sealed or open to public scrutiny?

In most states Divorce Records are Private and "Sealed," (or Not Open) to the Public," for not less than FIFTY (50) years.

After Fifty (50) years Divorce records and files become "Public" documents and information.

Good luck,
