Legal Question in Family Law in New York
divorce re-marrage
I just found out there is a waiting period of 6 months from the date a divorce is final to the date one can get re-married. I was re-married only 1 week after my final divorce papers were given in 1998. Am I really married? How do I find out?

Re: divorce re-marrage
I have never heard of such a thing in NY, may be this is applicable to other countries. Once a final divorce decree is issued, you are no longer married and are free to re-marry.
