Legal Question in Family Law in New York

divorce and separation of stored belongings

my son is in the process of a divorce...all of their belongings are in a storage unit in his soon to be ex wifes name..allthough they together rented unit after he returned from the military..his name is now off rental unit (he thinks she did the name change)... his lawyer said the belongings will be split, but exactly how is this accomplished if she changed the locks, and he doesnt have access..she refuses to give him anything from the unit and how do we enforce equal distribution without her hoarding or separating to her desired contents ..thx

Hi:

It is unethical for me to communicate regarding your sons case since he is represented by counsel.

You or your son should discuss this matter with his counsel.

Good Luck

If your son already has an attorney, then he should be asking his attorney this question.
