Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Divorce stipulations

My husband has been divorced for 3 yrs. In the div. he was ordered to pay most of the bills, all of which are in his name. His ex is trying to violate him because he does not have money to pay these bills, can she do this?

Re: Divorce stipulations

I'd need to look at the divorce documents to answer that question properly. I'd be happy to give you an initial consultation of 15 minutes for free.

Re: Divorce stipulations

If the bills are in his name (and not in hers), then how would she know he has not paid them?

Something is not right here. Suggest you ask his attorney for an opinion.

If you should ever need a second opinion, please call me. I would need to see the Judgment and the Stipulation of Settlement, etc.

I practice in NYC and Long Island.
