Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Divorce and support

I wanted to know if I'm entitled to anything from my law enforcement husband. We have no property together. He has raised my son since he was 2 he is now 9. We have been married for 4 years. He was paying his tuition at private school doesnt anymore left me with all the bills havent heard from him. I have heard he was consulting in a lawyer for divorce. Will I be entitled to his pension and or some kind of child support

Re: Divorce and support

The concept of marriage today is that of an economic partnership, in which we share income and assests, as well as losses and liabilities, regardless of title.

Of course you will be entitled to a portion of his pension, in the event of a divorce.

Suggest you consult with an experienced matrimonial attorney as well.

If you wish to discuss this with me privately, please call to schedule a consultation.

I practice in NYC and Long Island.
