Legal Question in Family Law in New York

divorce/child support

I have been seperated from my wife for over a yr. I give her 750.00 and then some. My son is 15 and my daughter is 20 she is taking online classes that I pay for, she don't let me see them. When I file for divorce would I still have to pay support on my daughter? What about allimony? She hasn't had a job in 20 yrs I can't keep affording to get her all this. It's bad enough I have 2 work 2 jobs.

Re: divorce/child support

In NY, child support is paid until 21 so yes you would.

As for alimony (now called maintenance) that will be for a Judge to decide.

If your wife is incapable of becoming self supporting you will most likely have to pay something.
