Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Divorce/Custody/ RealEtates
My husband and I have four children. I want a divorce and can not afford a lawyer. My husband promised to give me the divorce. He has a lover. Now he wants me to help them buy a house as a condition. I have refused. He is trying to not pay the bills here and save for the new house. Because of his bad credit, they told him that he will need more money. He is now trying to sell our home without my signing. He had said I could get custody of the children if I signed. If not he will fight me for the children. I am not financially able to afford a lawyer yet. Can he sell the house because he is still my husband? and what are the chances he can get custody of the children (17,16,14 and 13) ?

This is not as bad as it seems to you. Contact me directly and I can give you some solid options.
(Without, as my colleague suggests, selling your house or acquiring another mortgage!)

You should not be aiding your husband to buy another house. As there appears to be equity in your present house you could defer paying legal fees until the sale of settlement call me at 516 466 5297 for a free telephone consultation and ask for a copy of my free report " The 5 things that your spouse's divorce doesn't want you to know
