my husband and i are married 2 yrs.he bought a house and did not put my name on paper work.we have been living in new home for about four months. what am i entitled too? we have a two year old son.

Under New York's equitable distribution law, in most cases you would be entitled to a substantial, if not 50% share of the house.

Exceptions would include circumstances in which the house was purchased with money from an inheritance belong to your spouse, or from the proceeds of the sale of a house which he owned before the marriage. However, even if the house were purchased with his "separate" funds, you would be entitled to a share of the increase in value of the house if money earned during the marriage was used to pay for a mortgage or taxes on the house.
