Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Domestic Relations Law

In my seperation agreement there is a clause that the husband's obligation to pay maintenance to the wife shall cease if the wife establishes a relationship tantamount to marriage in accordance with the Domestic Relations Law of the State of New York. What exactly would be the terms of such a relationship? I can't find any descriptions of the said law.

Re: Domestic Relations Law

"A relationship tantamount to a marriage" is a delicate and more comprehensive way of describing the "mating" of the ex spouse with another. It includes, but is not limited to "living with" presenting to the world as "a couple..;" economic and other ties with each other. The Court and Law does not contemplate an Ex spouse supporting directly or indirectly the "mate" or partner of an Ex in any way whatsoever.
