Legal Question in Family Law in New York
dominican divorce
I obtained a divorce in the dominican republic. I signed the papers but we were unable to contact my ex. Everything seems to be in order. I want to know where do take these papers to have the divorced recognized here in NY so down the road I have no problems. I am planning to get married next year.

Re: dominican divorce
I must tell you that your divorce may well be invalid in New York because your wife did not consent to it or participate in the process as a party. Asking a New York court to verify it will serve no purpose. You should consider starting a new action for divorce in New York. For further information, visit www.international-divorce.com
