Economic Disadvantage and Marriage

What are the economical disadvantages to getting married? For example, will I be responsible for any bills my husband has? credit cards? Will my credit score go down if his is low? If has bad credit and owes money, is it better to just cohabitate?

1. no responsibility for any pre-existing bills and 2. your credit score should be unaffected.

If you are truly concerned, perhaps a 'pre-nuptual agreement' could be helpful. I would charge $750.00 for a simple prenup.
