What is the definition of an emancipated minor in regards to child support

An "emancipated minor" *might* be a young person who had become self-supporting by virtue of employment (such as the military); *might* be a young person who had, himself/herself, taken himself/herself OUT of the otherwise-responsible parent's care/custody/control for no good reason / without provocation and refused to return to that parent's home.

Put otherwise, "emancipation" is a 'concept' about which more has been said describing what it is NOT, than has been carved in stone establishing what it IS.

Put other otherwise: "emancipation" is a 'status' that a court might determine a young person had achieved by virtue of certain acts or circumstances ... however, there are no fixed rules, no "mapped roads" that a young person might try to follow in order to be declared to be emancipated.
