Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Enforcing Divorce Property Settlement

NY divorce, final in 1994, gave marital residence to my spouse. Upon subsequent sale, I am to receive $15,000. I have just learned that house was sold in 2005. Spouse as moved to FL. Where is jurisdiction? Can she be served in FL?

You'd want to bring this one in New York hopefully in front of the judge that signed the order. You have a breach of contract and contempt of court here. You could have a good shot at getting legal fees too. For NY law and court forms go to: http://justiceneversleeps.net

You may file in either NY or in Florida. It is best to serve her through an out-of-state (lacal in FL) process server for a NY filing.
