Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Equitable Distrabution

I just want to know what these phrses mean in my uncontested divorce summons and complaint where I am the defendant.

1. I am not seeking equitable distribution. I understand that I may be prevented from further asserting my right to equitable distribution. My question being if our seperation agreement states that I spilt my house down the middle after we sell it that I am giving up this right? That I get nothing if I sign this new document?

2. I waive the service of all further papers in this action except for a copy of the final judgement of divorce. What does this mean and does it affect the above or seperation agreement?
