Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Evicting Boyfriend

I bought my own home, my boyfriend moved in shortly afterwards. I carry the mortgage and all bill payments. I have asked him to leave and he refuses stating that he has lived there and put his money into the house. How can I get him out?

Re: Evicting Boyfriend

Your boyfriend has no interest in your home. You can try to have him evicted or if he is not in a separate dwelling area you could call the cops and report him as trespassing.

Otherwise you will have to send him a letter of eviction, and follow it up with an eviction proceeding.

It can get messy. Get a lawyer as soon as you can.

Good Luck.
