Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Extracurricular Activities

My daughter's mother signs my daughter up for extracurricular activities and immediately expects for me to pay half. I don't mind helping pay for most of the activities but sometimes I just can't afford them. Am I responsible to split these costs with her? Thank you.

Re: Extracurricular Activities

Its great that your ex 9is an interested and motivated mother, but she cann0ot require you to pay more thqn your divorce decree rquires.

The order of support is not a 'credit card' for her.

Talk to her about the problem and ask her to discuss new fees and activities with you before signing up.

good luck.

Re: Extracurricular Activities

It depends on the judgment, order or agreement that governs your child support obligation.
