Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Family court

I do not have the funds to hire an attorney. I am in steuben county NY. Can i have a friend or relative (who has experience winning custody of his daughter) sit with me in family court and help represent me? If so, what law indicates this? God bless you for your help.

No, a friend of family member may not represent you in court. You should contact the court clerk to see if there is pro bono representation available in your county.
