Legal Question in Family Law in New York
I am currently in family court. I took my kids mother to court because she wasnt letting me see my kids. I had to be intimate with her for the sake of my kids. She made rash decisions when it came to their care and she talks inappropriately in a negative light to the kids about their father. I have been financially supporting both my kids since birth. I gave her exactly what she wanted financially however I could only see my kids at her convenience I took her to court and ask for joint custody theres a temporary custody order in which is totally benefiting her. I have an up and coming court date in July. I dont want to use the lawyer I been using because I dont feel shes fighting hard for me. I am not a dead beat dad nor was I ever trying not to support my kids since birth. My kids mom took me for child support and all of sudden I have arrears I shouldnt be paying for if me and her mother had an agreement at the time. What is my best course of action because I cant afford to pay the arrears included with the child support I live alone? Also I want more time with my kids, every other weekend is not suitable for me.
