Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Family Court Papers Server on Sunday?

Hi everyone, thanks for your time..

I was just serverd on SUNDAY by a uniformed Police officer on duty with papers to appear in Family court in New York..

Last time i checked it was illegal to serve on Sunday In NY and from what ive heard police officers cannot server summons either.

Please help verify my information.

You are right. No service on Sunday in New York.

This police officer is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Unless, the court has made a special exception, which should be noted on the Summons.
