Legal Question in Family Law in New York

can a family member

I have a eleven year old son his father past a way a year and a half ago we were never married he left his son a life insurance polocy now my son family want me to tell them how much the polocy was for and they want to audit me. Can they do that. They have hated me for a long time and now they are trying to make my life inpossible.

If I understand your question, the father's family want information relating to an insurance policy, the proceeds of which were paid to you, on behalf of your son. Without knowing a bit more, it's hard to be precise as to everyone's rights and responsibilities - one question would be as to what position, if any, the father's family has taken regarding your son's custody.
