Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Filing For Divorce Using Copies

One year ago my wife and I signed divorce documents plus an addendum and had them notarized. She has lied for one year saying that she'd sent them into the court in the Bronx. She has not! Can I take my signed divorce documents (photocopies of the actual signed and notarized documents) and the addendum (actual signed and notarized document) and file the divorce myself?

The Court will require original documents. There is nothing preventing you from signing and serving them upon your wife. If you need help, hire an attorney.
