Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I want to find out about getting an uncontested, no fault divorce in New York. I know that prior to 2010, there needed to have been grounds, but the No Fault Divorce law was passed last year. I was wondering what exactly this new law changes. I downloaded the (pro se) divorce packet off of the New York Courts website, but the verified complaint still requires that I choose a ground for the divorce. Is it possible the Court just hasn't updated their divorce packet? If so, what should be stated in the verified complaint? I do not want to hire a lawyer if I don't have to. There are no children and no property at issue.

A. No. The cause of action for ID was added to the other grounds. It should be the last grounds on the packet.

A. The divorce is more than just the forms. I am unable to explain this through lawguru. Even if you have a short term marriage with no children, you should still retain a lawyer for the divorce. Most lawyers would charge a flat fee for the paperwork. And you know that the paperwork would be filed correctly otherwise the lawyer would be responsible.
