Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I just found out that when I married my husband in 1990, that he was still legally married. His divorce was not finalized until 1991. He was married to his first wife in NH, we were married in VT and now reside in NY. What are my legal rights? I really don't want to be married to him anymore.

You were never married. You may petition the court for an Action to Declare the Nullity of a Void Marriage. There may still be property property issues and an award of maintenance depending on the circumstances. http://www.NYCDivorceCenter.com
