Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Hello!, my name is Gerardo and i live in California. About 2 yrs. ago, i was fooled into signing over all my rights for my son wich i never agreed on. Since then, my son was taken to the state of N.Y by his mother to live. I have gotten to live with that since i made the mistake of signing over my rights. I try to phone him everyday but there is always an excuse that hes not available. I flew to New York in August of 2008 to see him wich his mother had agreed on but i never got the chance to see him because his mother kept him away from me. I have tried to be nice to her by calling her and writing to her but i have not heard from her for 2 yrs now. I will be moving to New York next year to fight for him but i need some guidence, please! can anyone give me some advice on where to even begin my journey to be reconnected with my son?

You should file a petition in the Family Court in the county where your son is located. In the petition you should seek visitation of your son.
