are gifts received in a bridal shower considered separate or marital property? the shower took place before the wedding and gifts are jewelry,cash,furniture, clothes...

Upon brief research there is no law addressing this issue. However, I believe that if the gift was given specifically for you and not the marriage (ie. clothing), the property would be non-marital. If the gift was for the marriage (ie., furniture for the marital home), the gift would be deemed marital property.
