Re: girlfriend

The only rights you have in the home or to other property held by your girlfriend in her own name are those which may arise from an agreement between the two of you. For example, you may have agreed to be partners in the property, or that your contributions were made as a loan to be repaid with specified interest, that the money was intended as a gift, etc. You should discuss this in detail with an attorney as soon as possible.

Re: girlfriend

Whether you can "recoup" anything will largely depend upon a) how well your contributions and payments for the house were documented; and b) what both of your (articulated) intentions and resources were, when you entered into your arrangements re the house.

Good luck,
