Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Giving up Parental rights and support

I recently found out that I am the father to a 1 year old child, I do not wish to have any ties to this child, and I am NOT on the birth certificate. I was told by the Mother that I am not able to give up rights to him, but I wish to do so, is there any way I can give up rights to him and not have to pay child support? The mothers Fiance is wishing to adopt him with in the near future.

Re: Giving up Parental rights and support

THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN "GIVE UP" YOUR PARENTAL OBLIGATIONS.

If the mother's spouse (OR ANOTHER PERSON) wants to adopt your child, you may consent; and then be relieved of your rights and obligations to and for the child.

GOOD LUCK,
