Legal Question in Family Law in New York

grandchild

My husband and I have custody of our grand daughter and her mother has had nothing to do with her in 13 months. The mother is now wanting to see her child.What can I /we do.

It is in the best interest of the child to be raised in a loving and nurturing environment. Love is a commodity that may be shared among many individuals.

I assume that you presently have custody because the mother was unstable. And that her unstability adversly affected the child. You should determine whether the mother is better, and if yes, slowly reintroduce and work visitation back in with the mother.
