Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My granddaughter is in foster care. I would like to know how my granddaughter is and all that that comes along with it. They will not tell either the father or mother anything about where the child is and i'd like to know and possibly see and know the possibilites are of that happening so how can i know where the child is. She was also placed in a second foster home and i'd like to know where.

There has got to be more to this story. I suspect there was child abuse. I would suggest contacting the case worker for the child and asking her these questions.
