Legal Question in Family Law in New York

grandparent visitation order

My ex-in-laws have received a court order for visitation with my 4 yr old son who hasn't seen them in a year. They're son is in and out of rehab and they are in denial about his drug abuse. I will not let my son visit as it is likely that his violent father may show up. Is it possible that I could go to jail?

Re: grandparent visitation order

Yes, you must follow all court orders or face the consequences.

You could go back to court and get a stay-away order so that the in-laws could lose their visitation if he shows up.
