Grandparents and child visitation

What does the law say about grandparents and their right to visitation of a grandchild? Also what is the standard amount of time that the law allows regarding that type of visitation?

The US Supreme Court seems to think that

statutes authorizing grandparent visitation

are unconstitutional

So does a NY Court in Brooklyn

However, the NY statute still permits it

There is no standard, but is strictly

determined by the circumstances
