Re: grandparents right to intercede adoption

Since the Court can decide that grandparents have "standing" to participate in child custody and visitation proceedings, the court can decide to permit the biological grandparents to be heard on the issue of adoption.

However, if the natural parents DO NOT CONSENT to the grandparents adopting their child, or participating in the proceedings, it is very unlikely the court could or can award the child to the grandparents.

And, the best that could be achieved is, that with the consent of the adoptive parents, the grandparents may retain their "privilege" of visitation. The worse to be achieved is the entire disruption of your family, when your child ( the natural parent), of the to be adopted child, breaks all ties and relations with you and your spouse forever. Which is the most frequent outcome I have observed when grandparents intervened in matters such as this.

Please be reminded that Grandparents DO NOT have rights to participate in their grandchildren's lives, equal to or superior to that of their children's rights.
