Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Guardianship of an 18 year old

What does the law in New York say about who is the legal guardian of an 18 year old who doesn't live with her mother and adoptive stepfather or with the biological father, but lives with her grandparents. Who is considered the one responsible to sign permission slips for school functions etc?

An 18 year old is an adult in New York. If the school still wants permission slips, you should resolve this directly with them.
