Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am heading in the direction of a divorce. My husband wants to remain in our home. I can't afford it anyway. Can I leave here legally under the laws of New York State, and still get child support? Or would this be abandonment on my part

Child support under the laws of the State of New York is not affected by where you live.
