Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Hi
I have a question regarding contract law. If two individuals were to sign a contract, is it a valid one? Under which conditions?
Background: My partner and me are planning to get married in a few years down the road. In case of an early separation (before marriage) we want both of us to have a fair share of the assets we own.
We planned to set up a contract and sign it under observation of a third person that signs as well. Each party will keep a copy of the contract.
Will it be a valid contract and in case one party doesn't want to follow, will there be a way to sue over it?
Thanks in advance,
Franz
